Dia Dos (Day Two) in Madrid

Hola from Madrid!  This is day two in Spain.  We went on a long bus ride today and we were able to see a lot of different parts of the city.  We got to see the bull fighting stadium and the Real Madrid soccer stadium, which were both really cool!  It was awesome to spend the day touring the city, getting to learn about all of the different buildings.  Yesterday we were looking around wondering what everything was and it was nice to get a sense of what everything is.  It was nice to walk around center city Madrid and see so many different parts of the city.  After our tour we got lunch and spent a few hours in the hotel resting for our first game.

We got to play a professional team tonight.  We played two quarters against a club team and two quarters against the professional team.  We lost but we played pretty well.  We got to see what our team is going to be like next year and it was a good experience.  We got to play against a Harvard graduate and a former WNBA player.  It was great to see how the Europeans play differently than us.  Also, we had a chance to see what we need to improve on to prepare for next year.

So, we are heading to bed now.  It is late here!  We are going to rest up for tomorrow.  We have another bus tour, a town called Toledo (our tour guide today made it clear that it is not pronounced the same way as Toledo, Ohio even though spelled the same).

Buonos Noches,

Emily and Nellie

P.S. This blog was originally supposed to be a video entry but the wi-fi is very shaky.  We will post the video if it is possible.  Thanks for following :)
